In December 2013, I first was challenged to take the 30 Day Mental Fast. I decided to revisit this exercise in excellence. What I realized was that my life turned to mush after I finished and did not keep up with the new habit I was developing. The Mental Fast consisted of the following:
- Read 15 minutes/day
- No TV
- Listen to Personal Development Audio
- No News Papers
- Associate with positive people
- Drink water & take Organo Gold Capsules
- Reflection Time
For me there No Newspapers was the easies to give up since I haven't read them in decades, which will not change. I find newspapers and the news on radio and TV to be depressing. No TV will be a challenge because I love Castle and Deadliest Catch. Plus, my wife likes the time we share in front of the TV. That's what DVR is for I can watch them later if I choose. Therefore, I'll only report if I deviate to watching TV.

No TV: No Problem.

Associate with positive people: Called my mentors and coaches just because I wanted to let them know this challenge was starting today.
Exercise: I went for a short walk. I messed up my knee and walking has been a challenge. So i've started with baby steps, literally!
Reflection Time: I took a half hour to review my Simple and Easy statements, which I'll cover in another post, and visualizing some of my other goals.
